One afternoon, a porcupine named Jenny was playing with her friends Chocolate the reindeer, Bessy the dog, Muddy the pig and Nancy the chicken.

Jenny was a happy porcupine, but today she was sad because she had only one quill. Her friends tried to cheer her up by making her laugh, but she didn't. Chocolate said, "Why don't we split up and look for quills for you, Jenny?" The animals went in different directions.

Jenny and Muddy searched the pig's pen, Chocolate searched the horse stable, Bessy searched the sheep pen, and Nancy searched the hen house.

When everyone came back, Jenny was sad because everyone said, "Sorry Jenny, we didn't find anything." It was nighttime and the animals went in to eat dinner and sleep.

In the morning, Jenny looked at her back. She called her friends. "Look at my back," she said. There was another quill. Bessy said, "See, all you have to do is eat healthy food and get lots of rest."

Jenny was a happy porcupine again. The animals played till sunset. Everyone watched the sunset and Jenny was thinking about getting more quills tomorrow and every day.
