The Snake That Grew Sunflowers
The snake hibernated over winter. When he woke up, he was so hungry he could eat a bear. He went and searched for food. There were no mice to eat.
All he found was a sunflower in the woods. It gave him an idea. The mice would come and get the sunflower seeds. If there were lots of sunflowers, there would be millions and millions of mice.
So the snake decides to climb the sunflower and plant the seeds. He climbs up the leaves. He gets to the top and takes the seeds. The snake takes the seeds outside the woods.
He makes holes with his tail and puts the seeds inside. He uses his tail to push the soil over the seeds.
He waters the sunflowers. He makes his tail into a cup. He gets water. He opens up his tail. The water comes down like rain.
The snake waters again and again. It rains so he doesn’t have to water anymore. He says, “Yippee!”
After the rain the plants grow. A couple weeks later the plants were bigger. Then they grow sunflowers.
The mice come. The snake eats the mice.
Then it’s winter. The snake hibernates again.
